Still Here

A dialogue-driven short film about the final moments of a relationship, developed and produced through Castel Collective's Film House.

Watch Film

I led Castel Collective's Film House through Still Here from pre-production through post, overseeing development and production logistics before editing the final short.

The Film

Still Here is a grounded, dialogue-driven short film exploring the emotional aftermath of a breakup. During one final visit to their shared apartment, a young couple is forced to relive the highs and lows of their relationship, confronting unresolved feelings as they struggle to say goodbye.

Leading the Film House

The concept for Still Here came from another member of Castel Collective's Film House. As Film House Captain, I led the project from that original pitch through casting and production, then carried it into the edit, all while the team was also transitioning to a new Film Director, whom I intentionally gave space to lead on set.

Fixing It in Post

During the leadership transition, I wasn't present for parts of the shoot, and when the footage came back I found visible lens spots across many of the exterior shots: the camera lens hadn't been cleaned before filming, and the issue had gone uncaught on set. I corrected the affected footage while editing in Premiere Pro, cleaning the blemishes shot by shot across the exterior sequences so they wouldn't distract from the finished film.
